Here is one of the entries for our Valentine’s Day Couples Contest! Lilith Oya and WolfMux are cosplaying as Princess Zelda and Ganon from The Legend of Zelda! Although neither cosplayer used an EpicCosplay wig (and it doesn’t seem like Ganon needs one) we have a recommendation for this version of Princess Zelda! We think our Persephone Wig in Caramel Blonde would be wonderful to use in a Princess Zelda cosplay! Read on to learn more about these cosplayers!
Because I (Lilith Oya) met my fiance, WolfMux, near Halloween in 2006 we discovered rather quickly that we shared a love for costuming. I had been cosplaying at conventions since 2003, brought on by years of wanting to dress up as my favorite characters for Halloween, and eventually inspired by the awesome talents of cosplayers I found on the internet. WolfMux was into monster movies and special fx, so naturally it was his most anticipated holiday. I told him all about the conventions I usually attend, I-Con, Otakon, and AnimeNext, to which he replied, “YOU MEAN I CAN WEAR A COSTUME MORE THAN ONCE A YEAR?????”. He accompanied me to his first anime con, Otakon 2007, choosing not to cosplay so he could chase people around with his camera the entire weekend. After getting a healthy dose of the awesome that the community brings, we finally created our first team for I-Con 2008 and entered our first masquerade together. We chose specifically the cartoon version of the Legend of Zelda characters because we both have a lot of fond childhood memories watching the cheesy, but awesome, cartoons of the 80’s. It was also a great opportunity to combine are particular talents; my sewing ability and his fx make-up and prop skills. This strategy led us to win Best in Show and began a tradition of competing together that has continued ever since.
