Valentine’s Day Couples Contest Entry: Melissa Joy & Raye Springall as Kaname Kuran & Yuki Cross (Vampire Knight)

Here’s one of the entries for our Valentine’s Day Couples Contest!  Melissa Joy and Raye Springall are cosplaying as Kaname Kuran and Yuki Cross respectively from Vampire Knight.  Although neither cosplayer used a wig from EpicCosplay, we have some recommendations that would work well for each of those characters. For a Kaname cosplay we recommend using our Helios Wig in Dark Brown. For Yuki, we recommend using our Chronos Wig in Dark Brown! Read on to learn more about these cosplayers!

-What inspired you to do these cosplays?:
Raye loved the series well before I came to know it and had wanted to cosplay Yuki for a long time, but she wanted to do the cosplay with someone doing Kaname.  I was told by someone else that they thought I would suit him.  Raye thought so too, and she’s besotted with Kaname.  I wasn’t so sure I would pull him off at first, but then quickly grew to love the idea, and I caved in.  ^_^’

-What got you into cosplay?:
We both started to attend the London MCM Expo a few years ago (I started attending in October 2008, but Raye had attended the show before I did), and it sparked off an interest in the both of us to start representing the characters we love.

-Why do you love cosplay?:
It’s creative, and it allows us to portray the characters we love the most as best we can.  We’re both perfectionists by nature, so we always try to represent those characters to the best of our ability.  We also thoroughly enjoy the social side of it, and love to have fun with it.
